Specs to include
Give what you know, or name a product for us to match.
- Weight (oz/yd² or g/m²)
- 18 oz/yd² (about 610 g/m²) is a common truck tarp weight. If you're replacing a material, give the weight on its datasheet.
- Scrim denier
- The yarn size of the polyester base, such as 1000D × 1000D. Higher denier gives more tear strength.
- Knife-coated or laminated
- Knife-coated fabric has PVC worked into the base and welds into strong seams. Laminated fabric bonds PVC film to an open scrim and weighs less.
- Finish (matte, gloss, embossed)
- On one side or both. A lacquer top coat keeps the surface cleaner and helps it take print.
- Fire rating
- NFPA 701 or CPAI-84 for tents and awnings in the US, B1 or M2 in Europe.
- Tensile and tear strength
- Warp and weft, in N/5 cm or lbf. A current supplier's datasheet answers this, so attach it if you have one.
